Skyline Nav AI has developed an innovative and patented technology, called Skyline Match AI™️, that leverages computer vision algorithms and reference datasets to navigate and position effectively without relying on GPS, cellular or Wi-Fi. Our solution allows you to confidently operate in urban canyons, and in environments where GPS may be degraded or entirely absent. Our technology excels in its ability to find initial positions and navigate effectively by scanning the terrain and identifying discernible skylines. This unique capability provides a robust foundation for a wide range of autonomy applications on the edge.

Our technology helps military and non-military personnel who want to navigate in a GPS-degraded/spoofed environment through the use of visualization of terrain features. Our tech can be combined with inertial, GNSS and SLAM for even better position and navigation results. 

Input Data

Skyline Match AI uses real-time images of skylines and terrain features captured by the user's device.

Reference Datasets

It compares these images against a precomputed and preprocessed reference dataset, including data from sources like NGA GRiD and Maxar.

Pixel-by-Pixel Analysis

The system conducts a pixel-by-pixel analysis to match the captured features with the reference data.

Output

The result is precise geolocation data, providing latitude and longitude within 5 meters of accuracy 95% of the time, even in GPS-deprived environments​​.

About the Invention

A novel method to visually position a person or vehicle in a complex environments on land, air, sea and space composed of buildings, mountains, coastline, suburban regions, rural areas, trees, craters and others. An initial localization of a person or vehicle which has no prior knowledge of its position can be made. 

 

Technology Verification

We have built an iOS app, Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) plugin for the TAK platform and an API/SDK. We have done extensive demonstration of the technology in multiple regions around the world. Check out the results here
