About the Invention
A novel method to visually position a person or vehicle in a complex urban terrain composed of tall buildings and trees. An initial localization of a person or vehicle which has no prior knowledge of its position can be made.
A prototype iOS application is available on the US Apple Store to return latitude and longitude based on a submitted StreetView 360 image for a predefined area. We have also built an Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) plugin for the TAK community of users.
